Privacy 101
Should you be concerned about privacy? Absolutely. Any business entity that stores (even for a short period of time) personal information (e.g. name, address, phone number, email address, credit card number, etc.) gathered from its customers should be thinking about privacy and how privacy impacts business. Last year, three states (California, Nevada, and Maine) enacted comprehensive privacy laws. More than 20 other states are in various phases of the legislative process to implement their own privacy laws. With so many states passing privacy legislation, many experts expect there will be a Federal privacy law on its way impacting all business sectors, including air charter.
Charter and Go takes privacy very seriously and our team is closely monitoring privacy legislation to ensure that its products and services are best in class when it comes to addressing privacy requirements. Charter and Go understands that many of its customers have never been exposed to privacy or data protection issues. To help our customers better navigate this new reality, we plan to cover all aspects of privacy and data protection in future blogs that are relevant to charter operators. Please look out for future blogs as we do our research and analysis into everything that you, as a responsible steward of your customers’ personal information, should be familiarizing yourself with.
